Chattanooga, TN (September 27, 2007) – The Structure Group is pleased to announce John Henry’s recent participation in three European exhibitions.  John Henry began his European tour with his UK premiere and solo exhibition, “John Henry, New Sculpture” at Broadbent Gallery in London, England.   Mr. Henry next participated in the  “Open 2007” exhibition in Venice, Italy.  Also in September, Mr. Henry served as curator and exhibitor at “American Sculptors In the Shadow of the Alps”, at Art St. Urban, Switzerland.  John Henry’s work will continue to be on display on the Lido in Venice, Italy and in St. Urban, Switzerland until late fall.

Broadbent, a gallery in the Notting Hill district of London, was honored to host John Henry’s UK premiere and to celebrate the exhibition opening with a private viewing for Mr. Henry’s close friends and collectors on May 31  2007.  The exhibition featured John’s new works, including several pedestal pieces, a garden sized work entitled, “Blue Rhapsody”, and Mr. Henry’s newest wall piece, “Stratus”.  The exhibition opened June 1 and came to a close on July 7.  Broadbent has placed the 25’ medium scale sculpture, “Sun Devil” at the Radlett Preparatory School in Hertfordshire, UK.  The sculpture creates an inviting meeting place for students to gather and serves as a unique educational component to the students regular art curriculum as evidenced by the student’s drawings and poems featuring the fiery, red sculpture.  For more details regarding the Broadbent exhibition please visit www.broadbentgallery.com.

From August 30 to October 14 two of John Henry’s medium scale works are exhibited in the open air spaces at “Open 2007”, Venice Lido, Italy.  The exhibition is hosted by Arte Communications and includes international curators, Achille Bonito Oliva, Alanna Heiss, Chang Tsong-zung and Vincenzo Sanfo. “Traveler”, a new 20’ red aluminum work, and the 26’ yellow steel sculpture, “Zach’s Tower”, are part of the international exhibition of sculpture, installations, and performances. The exhibition features an array of important contemporary artists including: Sandro Chia, Enzo Cucchi, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, John Henry and Beverly Pepper.  John Henry was honored by the opportunity to create and present the award for the 64th Venice Film Festival presented to a Film Director selected for his/her strong figurative cinematographic art.  Mr. Henry presented his work, “Scelto” to the British filmmaker Peter Greenaway, awarding his most recent film, “Night Watching”.  He is also known for such movies as ‘The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, & Her Lover”.  To find out more about OPEN 2007 visit www.artecommunications.com.
